FOSTER A MORE INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL AT TULANE

Named by President Michael A. Fitts as part of his Tulane Trailblazers program, the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life honors one of our community’s most committed members. Carolyn Barber-Pierre has spent over three decades working to foster a more inclusive environment for all at Tulane. The center named in her honor works to successfully retain underrepresented students throughout their time at the university. The Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center includes The Office of Multicultural Affairs, The Office for Gender & Sexual Diversity and Religious Life at Tulane, leveraging the important work of all three to transform Tulane into a place where all students can thrive.

Giving Opportunities

Tulane Blue

As Tulane continues to increase diversity on campus, it is crucial that the university provides services for all students to succeed. In addition to being a home where diversity thrives, the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life works throughout campus to catalyze open, dynamic and vibrant learning environments where all students’ histories, traditions and cultures are welcome and respected.

Your support of the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life would support a center that brings students together from across racial, sexual, ethnic, national and gender identities to create a hub for diverse cultural, social and intellectual exchanges, events and relationships. The center provides students of color, LGBTQ+, veterans and allied students with advocacy services, mentoring, personal support, leadership development and educational, cultural and social programming to support their social and overall well-being at Tulane and their ability to thrive thereafter.
